Remnants of a Slain God
Belanor was an Elf born and raised in the city of Gabranth to a father deeply tied to the Order of Kiskar and a mother who always thought of him as a mistake. When he matured, he was constantly pressured by his father into tasks for the Order. Begrudgingly, he gave up his time and worked his way up to become a full fledged assassin for their order. During his missions, he refused to work with almost anyone who wasn’t his childhood friend, Tesra.
Before Belanor had could fulfill his plans to escape the city with Tesra, the alarms sounded and news spread that someone was attempting to steal the city’s greatest treasure, a Godshard. He knew the only person in the city that knew enough and was adept enough to get it was Tesra. However, before he could catch up with him, Gabranth was under attack by forces coordinated by Scythen.
During the panic, Aiur of Capria and Tentaclese, Hero of Law joined with him. With the help of Scythen’s rival,Benjamin Foster and his subordinate Caden Irsan, they escaped before the city was bombed to rubble. Irsan was sent with Belanor’s group to give a link to Foster for their missions on taking out Scythen’s special forces, at the time being a few scattered members of Martin’s Mercenaries.
After a few missions aboard Aiur’s ship, the Honorbound, Ziezl Baron provided Belanor with a ship of his own, the Baraka. This is where he encountered a temporary member of his crew that later betrayed him, Mordrick.
Many missions later, they finally got to go face to face with Scythen for the first time. However, Scythen’s amplified Godshard powers were too much to handle, and became simply a game of survival for them. After testing them, Scythen let them go except for Tentaclese who had not performed well enough for his standards and was manipulated by his psychic powers to commit suicide.
Belanor got his second chance not long after. When Scythen’s forces failed an attempted assassination on Ziezl Baron, the hired guns were traced back to him. His master, Damien Redd, exiled Scythen offworld. However, Scythen had forged a Runic contract to protect Redd. Scythen was literally unable to forgo the contract and was forced to use magic to duplicate himself which cut his power in half. One would lurk in secret protecting Redd, while the other would find a new master with resources to allow his work to continue.
Belanor received help along the way from the Saints who were tracking his progress as a potential member of their order. They even gave him an ally to serve on his crew, Trench. Before the fight with Scythen, Belanor also picked up crew members Seamus Skaalg, Ret-Aran and Turner “Tittlicky” Jones.
Belanor and his crew eventually tracked him down on Bounty serving under the High Count Damascus. With the help of Saint Marco, they were able to kill Scythen and retrieve his Godshard. While Aiur had been sent by the Wayward High Priests to retrieve it, Belanor had his own ideas. He kept it for himself and embraced it’s power. This led to a long and bitter feud between the former friend, Aiur. However, it did grant Belanor a position as a Saint, along with Trench.
The godshard multiplied his already amazing speed and dexterity.
Among his other achievements, he launched his own brand of bottled water, Belanor’s Best, which is said to taste fresher than the springs of the Caprian Highlands.
