Remnants of a Slain God
Tesra of Gabranth
Elven magic adept, Speaker of the Bloody Tongue, King of Skulls, Founder of Kiskar
Tesra was an Elf born and raised on in the city of Gabranth. Due to always getting in trouble, he had only one real childhood friend, Belanor. Tesra had always been a fanatic for the causes of the Order of Kiskar, so he joined as soon as he was old enough. He had always had a knack for thieving and was very intelligent. He would steal and study magical tomes and was one of the few that managed to self teach magery. He used his gifts to perform all manner of tasks for the order, but always dreamed of bigger goals.
One night, a mysterious stranger named Scythen had come for the Godshard held deep under the city. When passing by Tesra’s home, Scythen sensed his dreams of getting power and anger towards the Wayward. Scythen entered the home and gave Tesra what he really wanted, a bigger goal, one that would go down in their history. He asked him to steal the city’s greatest treasure and return it to him, in return for immeasurable wealth and forces to fight for their freedom.
Tesra was swayed and accepted the offer. When he ventured far beneath into the city’s vaults and catacombs he was doing well. However, when he got his hands on the chest containing the shard, he was discovered by a Ramalac paladin. When guards swarmed him, he unleashed the shard into himself in a panic. He gained the power of mastering fear and using it to his advantage. Naturally it instilled itself into the form that was most terrifying to him and the rest of the Wayward: the Nosferatu. He briefly changed into a Nosferatic monstrosity and killed any guard that crossed his path. When he exited, he changed back and ran for his life, knowing that Scythen would have to kill him to retrieve the shard. He was not fast enough and was captured by Scythen who had to make a quick escape before bombing Gabranth.
Luckily for Tesra, Scythen did not know the proper spell to extract the shard from him. So Scythen ventured offworld seeking the whereabouts of a tome for this spell. Before Scythen could get his hands on one, Tesra had begun to master his new powers and was able to escape to Nosferatu stronghold. With his abilities, he first to be able to communicate with them. His absence of fear gave them reason enough to not kill him immediately.
They protected him from Scythen and gave him a second raising as they would a Nosferatu child. He went alongside them on murderous raids and taught him blood magic. With his quick wit, he quickly became one of the best sorcerers they had. Even learning how to even raise the dead, a feat considered near impossible even for an experience blood mage.
With this new power, he bargained with Scythen to leave him, Belanor and his crew alone and give up on his pursuit for Tesra’s godshard. When a deal was struck, Tesra focused on leading the Nosferatu and bending them to his motives. He negotiated an end to the Melian Crusades, spread books of knowledge on Blood Magic and the New Gods and achieved his dream of taking a planet that his people could live on freely. He named it after the order he served, Kiskar.
He became an unoffical figurehead for Kiskar. He was nicknamed the King of Skulls, for his violent nature. However, hundreds of thousands began pouring in and populating his world. He is still considered a mighty hero on Kiskar and an immortal guardian commanding forces that the mere thought of would keep their enemies away.
