Zombie

The most common type of undead. A zombie is a reanimated corpse of a once living thing. This undead husk lives only to feed or serve the commands of those skilled enough to control them. Their true danger lies with their often large numbers, relentlessness, and highly infectious diseases. Without masters, they are mindless, instinct driven eating machines.

Zombie Variations

Standard Zombie Reanimated corpses that are used a tool of infectious relentless destruction.
Dire Zombie They are a more advanced and dangerous version of the regular zombie. They are smarter, tougher, stronger and faster. They are capable of working together, using low-tech weapons and setting simple traps.

Predation Tactics

Standard Zombie
Run, tear and bite. They will wander until they find living prey and then relentlessly pursue them until they have a chance to attempt to eat them. They will always pursue the freshest meat they can perceive. Once they reach a victim, they will use flesh rip, followed by zombie bite until the target is dead.
Dire Zombies
When in close combat they will fare much better than standard zombies. Besides increased fitness and dexterity, what makes them much more dangerous is their ability to use weapons, tool, traps and actually have a plan or follow basic orders.

Intelligence Standard zombies have virtually no intelligence other than their ability to sense and chase down food. Dire Zombie intelligence is often compared to dogs and apes. It allows them to make and use simple tools, shelter and weapons, but often are only barely able to do so.
Communication Standard zombies only communicate through following the herd of other zombies. Dire Zombies do not quite have a grasp on speech or writing but often communicate through hand signals, grunts and various other gestures.
